Globe ended the year with a mobile SIM base of 26.5 million, up 14% from prior year’s level. The Company had a postpaid subscriber base of 1.1 million, with fourth quarter net subscriber growth at a 7-year high. The Facebook Addiktus TM Clan is a group of young Pinoys, many of them hardcore TM and Globe prepaid texters, who eat, live and breathe the social networking madness. For months on end, the Facebook Addiktus TM Clan turned the forum into their virtual tambayan, outperforming up to 70 other barkadas and nearly 1500 members who joined the TM-sponsored contest.

One of the things we did this summer was Popcorn Night, where the Digital and Social Media Marketing Teams of Globe Telecom met up with some of the country’s top bloggers. Popcorn and drinks were on us, as we watched some of the latest movies with our blogger pals. Needless to say, those were awesome nights of fun and entertainment.

A great highlight of this summer was the Cebu Bloggers’ Dinner. Our social media manager, Coy Caballes, headed off to Cebu to meet, greet, wine, and dine with some of the top bloggers from the Queen City of the South, and beyond:

The dinner was held at Bigby’s at Ayala Center, Cebu. Lots of talk, food, and interesting insights were shared, and we’re more than happy for the warm companionship of the awesome bloggers from Cebu.

iBlog: The 6th Philippine Blogging Summit will be held at the Malcolm Theater, UP College of Law, UP Diliman, Quezon City, on April 16 and 17, 2010, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The iBlog summit is the perfect opportunity for bloggers of all styles, niches, and ages to learn more about blogging, to improve their blogging skills, and meet and greet bloggers from all over the Philippines.

The first day of iBlog 6 is for entrepreneurs, companies, and for anyone interested in tapping blogs to promote products and services. The second day of iBlog 6 is more for people who are interested in blogging. For blogging newbies and veterans alike, Day 2 is the place to be. You can register for iBlog 6 online, although you can participate in iBlog as a walk-in participant. Registration is free, and you can opt to attend one or both days of the event. The first 250 registered participants will get free food stubs and participant kits. The remaining food stubs and kits will be given to early walk-in participants, so make sure to go there early!

Soul Xpression: The Street Art Competition is your chance to paint awesome artistic murals and win up to P30,000 in prizes. We posted the mechanics before, but just for a recap, here’s how it works:

There are two categories: one for students (high school and college students) and open category (anyone from 15-30 years old)

For the student category, the wall art must measure 5×7 feet or 7×5 feet. The mural must be found in your school’s premises. Don’t do anything that will get you into trouble; talk to your school administrators first.

For the open category, you can make any street art installation, like a mural or a wall tagged with graffiti. It should be found in any visible location, but make sure you get permission from the owner of the space.
Please don’t tag a public wall.

Entries should have the Globe Tattoo logo visible in the mural or installation.
