Globe Tattoo is giving away tickets to the Paramore concert happening on March 9, 2010, at the SM MOA Concert Grounds! That’s right! We’re giving away 50 Bronze tickets! That’s not all, Globe Tattoo is giving 3 of you a chance to meet and greet the band!

1. Take a picture of yourself holding a Globe Tattoo stick
2. Email your picture to paramore.tattoo.contest@gmail.com. In the email, please indicate your name and contact details.
3. The FIRST 50 to email us will win one ticket each!
4. The pics of the winners will be posted on the Globe Tattoo Facebook fan page.
5. We will raffle off the three (3) Meet and Greet passes. Everyone who joined the contest can win them!
6. Winners of the Meet and Greet passes will be announced on this blog and on the Globe Tattoo fan page.

Globe Tattoo Statement: The Killers

We regret to inform you that The Killers Live in Manila, scheduled for January 31, 2010 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City, has been canceled.

We recently received official word from the management of The Killers that the band’s entire Asian tour, with dates in Manila, Singapore, Beijing, HongKong, Seoul, Tokyo, has been canceled. New dates, if any, will be announced once these are final.

The event producers, Saga Events, Inc., and World Wide Womb, have committed to refund all ticket sales. You may return your tickets and secure your refund from the seller or outlet where you purchased them.

Here’s Your Chance to Meet and Greet The Killers!

If you were ever a fan of The Killers at some point in your life, I guess it’s a fair bet to say you would just love to meet them in person. Here is your chance.

Last Friday, we launched the contest to get free tickets to the concert via our Facebook fan page. This is essentially the extension of that contest. The mechanics work pretty much the same way.

We launched the NEW designs for Globe Tattoo sticks today, January 18, 2010. They look like this:

This is how you join.

1. Take a picture of yourself with the NEW Pinoy theme inspired Globe Tattoo Sticks and post it on our Facebook fan page.

2. The top 5 entries with the most “likes” wins one (1) ticket and they get to meet and greet The Killers. You’ll get to talk and take pictures with the guys who did Mr. Brightside.

3. At 9PM, of January 28, 2010, the contest cuts off. We will no longer accept submissions or count the “likes” past January 28, 2010 at 9PM.

4. We will announce the names of the winners on this blog on the evening of January 28, 2010.

5. Winners must confirm by texting their names and contact details (landline number, cellphone number) to 0927-3890762.

6. Winners can claim their tickets on January 29, 2010 at 4th Floor, Globe Telecom Tower 2, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City. Look for any Digital Marketing representative. Or at the concerts grounds, January 31st. Again, just look for Globe representatives.

7. Unclaimed/unconfirmed tickets will be given away in another contest on January 30, 2010.

8. In case there’s a tie, the pic submitted earlier will get the ticket.

Time to Transform with Tech Tanod

Hello, friends!

Tech TanodRemember the #BangonPinoy hashtag, when we all added it to the end of our tweets to raise funds for victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng? The goal of Globe and the Philippine Blog Awards was to raise P400,000 for the victims. Guess what: we managed to collect P409,000 in donations!

With that huge amount, we can start to rebuild the lives of victims in severely affected areas. Together with RockEd and other non-government organizations, Globe and the Philippine Blog Awards will help rebuild communities in a innovative, far-reaching, and long-lasting way: TECH TANOD.

Tech Tanod is an initiative that will use the Internet to spread the message of information advocacy through awareness and education. Tech Tanod aims to unite communities through the power and reach of technology.

One of the projects of Tech Tanod is a four-month education course on Writing, Blogging, and Information Advocacy. Twenty (20) individuals will be trained to become netizens, and sow the seeds for an online community to help with rehabilitation efforts. The Tech Tanod Team will donate netbooks and laptops to aid in education and empowerment efforts for the four-month campaign.

Tech Tanod was officially launched on December 20, 2009, at the Jesuit Communications Building at Ateneo de Manila University. Bloggers, volunteers, and other individuals and groups came to talk about the program, and participate in discussions that will ensure that Tech Tanod is a success.
