Blosics 2
For the past few weeks, I’ve been showing you some fun stuff to do online. Dunno if you guys are getting tired of hearing about these free online flash games, but hey, here’s one more. This one is actually pretty fun, and it’ll make you think, too!
While I was scouring the web for new things to show you guys, I stumbled upon this quite accidentally. I went to my favorite feed aggregation site and saw some people were competing to get the highest score for this game. It’s called Blosics 2! I actually haven’t even tried Blosics 1, but hey, the sequel is pretty cool.
Wrap your minds around this – it’s a physics based puzzle game. There are 30 levels all in all. And each level has a different challenge. You shoot steel balls with different point costs into some bricks. The goal is to knock green blocks off the platforms, while keeping as many red blocks as possible.
Once you reach 100 points, you can move on to the next level. To make the challenge more interesting, there are some surfaces that are slippery and others are elastic, so the way you play each level is not really the same. Each level will require a different level of thinking and skill. The good thing about it is that it isn’t as boring as regular puzzle games because you have to take the physics into consideration – the velocity of the ball, the angle of the walls, the weight of the bricks and the balls, etc. etc.
